Key Purpose of the Job (Position Summary)
The position is responsible to ensure 100% quality of product as per the plant process standard, thereby eliminating the waste, defectives & rework and rejections. Addressing and resolving in process quality issues raised through customer complaints and improvement of in process quality. The role holder is also responsible to implement quality initiatives, improvement activities and special projects at the plants in alignment to quality strategy and guidelines.
KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor and manage customer complaints and provide corrective action to avoid recurrences.
Investigate the technical aspects of customer complaints and provide reports to Plant Head for remedial actions.
Participate in quality related discussions with Customers and facilitate cascading of the concerns to line heads and other stakeholders in plant

- Coordinate with User and ensure timely evaluation of prospective suppliers/contractors.
- Making proper comparison and bid evaluation documents with benchmarking of market rates, past orders, similar orders placed in other units.
- Participating in and supporting negotiations of all contracts.
- Timely preparation of PO/contract documents.
- Ensuring timely delivery of materials and services in accordance with contract terms.

Planning
Support the GM – Industrial Engineering in planning of the annual targets for cost saving and resource optimization for the plant
Schedule and plan the efficiency and productivity studies for the plant including doing the required coordination with other departments at the plant, planning the resources required and scheduling
Provide inputs to the GM – Industrial Engineering for planning of the improvement projects at the plant and preparing the presentation of the project plan.
Provide support to the GM Industrial Engineering in undertaking feasibility studies for the improvement projects at the plant
Provide support to the management during LTS agreements with the unions and provide the management detailed plans / alternatives on manpower numbers and productivity in line with production output plans
IE Operations
Review and validate the manpower plan for worker category and contract staff at the respective plant based on production plans and productivity standards defined
Track and monitor manpower usage and cost at the plant in a daily basis vis-a-vis the time and performance standards defined, identify wastages and problem areas and work with the departmental heads at the plant to identify corrective measures

Operations
Implement work schedules, assignments and production sequences for the operators by machine as per shift plan
Provide inputs to the Production Manager regarding the manpower numbers for operators, contract employees, temporary employees and laborer’s as required to enable planning of resources and work schedules
Assess resource requirements to ensure continuous production flow
Supervise the overall production to ensure that the production schedule is adhered to during the shift
Cost Management
Initiate cost saving measures through innovative ideas and optimum usage of machine, manpower, energy, process and reduce cycle time etc.
