You’ll be our: Battery Design Engineer
You’ll be based at: IBC Knowledge Park, Bengaluru
You’ll be aligned with: Team Lead – Battery Engineering
You’ll be a member of: Battery Engineering team
What you’ll do at Ather:
Design concepts to ensure that the battery meets its functional requirements
Design and evaluate various thermal management solutions
Demonstrate continual improvement of departmental procedures as per the requirements of the corporate QS standards
Deliver design definitions for prototype and production batteries
Work on testing requirements for projects
Drive focus on design thinking and design language
Ensure that Cost, Quality & Schedule goals are met for programs/projects along with driving compliance with corporate guidelines on DFM, DFA, and component selection/derating
Liaise with NPD, Sourcing, VD, other engineering teams, integrators, and technicians in the Battery lab to deliver prototype and production designs
Own component designs through deliverables like component requirements/specifications, concepts, DFMEAs, DFX, tolerance stacks, detailed component and assembly drawings, component and assembly validation plans, and manufacturing drawings

Here’s what we are looking for:
Good understanding of design for assembly
Understanding of heat transfer and various thermal management solutions
Proficiency in creating detailed engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing and performing tolerance stack-ups
Knowledge of the fundamentals of cell performance, impedance, cell testing/data analysis, and failure modes in Li-ion cells
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) experience and battery design experience would be an added advantage
You bring to Ather:
Bachelor’s or master’s in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
3 to 6 years’ experience in the design and development of electronic packaging, peripheral development for electric vehicles
