What you’ll do at Ather:

Ideate and deliver proof of concept designs for the mechanical architecture of the battery pack.
Oversee the design quality of component designs during development.
Oversee mechanical integration of all components in the pack and of the pack with the production line during development.
Generate concepts for innovative Battery designs across various platforms and cell form factors.
To develop innovative test plans that accurately reflect use cases.
To author design guides for Battery design.
Own delivery of Proof of Concept designs
Perform preliminary FMEAs and concept reviews to deliver confidence on concepts
Manage physical and functional interfaces across all components of the battery and between battery and production line.
Perform complex tolerance stacks using statistical methods.
Ensure designs are delivered to expectations of Design maturity model and Ather product development systems.
Manage risks and bugs in battery architecture
Manage technical attributes (e.g. weight, thermals, life) of the battery
Influencing and challenging stakeholders across all levels.
Reviewing validation results to check for compliance to requirements.
Interfacing with the product team to understand product requirements and philosophy
Work with other functional engineering groups to agree on preliminary interfaces
Represent team in design reviews
Represent Battery Engineering in all meetings with the Manufacturing Engineering team (Assembly).
Work with component designers to flesh out concepts for various battery elements
Review drawings and models for prototype releases
Work with component design engineers within the team to check interfaces and perform tolerance stack analysis.
Work with Technicians and Build manager in the Battery lab to deliver prototype and pre production batteries.
Approve Batteries for proto and pre production use.
Check component drawings for release.

Here’s what we are looking for:

Experience in Lithium Ion battery design and development
Design of electromechanical components
DFx of electromechanical parts
Battery manufacturing process knowledge
Manufacturing process selection
Awareness of relevant standards for batteries
You bring to Ather:

B.Tech/B.E/M.tech/M.E. or equivalent with Specialization in Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics/Machine design
7-10 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years in Lithium ion battery design
