JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for the movement of finished goods from vendor to central warehouse/ Regional distribution centers / Branch warehouses in the assigned zones.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Arranging mode of transport for movement of goods – vendors to CWH, CWH to RDC / WHs, WHs to customers, in close co-ordination with vendors, CWH in-charges.
Effective management of transportation budget allocation keeping in mind expected inflations in fuel and other costs & driving cost saving initiatives Y-O-Y basis.
Finalizing contracts with transporters and periodical reviews & setting service level agreements, creating centralized process of appointment of transporters and fleet owners.
Processing of transporters freight bills & arranging for release of payments, handling lodging / settlement of transit claims on transporters and Insurance claims.
Setting up transporter performance evaluation system on vehicle placement, transit time, safety of goods delivered.
Developing and implementing appropriate modules for process improvement.
Ensuring tracking of consignments and visibility for internal controls and reports & contributing to development of Transport Management System (TMS) and dashboards.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Post-graduate Diploma/ Degree (Logistics/Supply Chain Management)

12-14 years of experience
