Lead Engineer – Throughput Simulation

Job Description
Key Job Responsibilities:

Create discrete event simulation models for automotive plants
Conceptualize, build, simulate, and optimize the process models using Plant Simulation & C-Draw simulation software
Perform capacity assessments, bottleneck analysis, logistics optimization, data analysis & resource optimization
Conduct sensitivity analysis, scenario testing etc. to evaluate the impact of process changes & proposed solutions online performance
Develop simulation models for material handling equipment to analyze congestion & optimize equipment utilization & counts
Represent simulation team in Throughput council forum & provide technical inputs for improving simulation processes & standards
Understand, analyze & map process flow information & production trend data effectively in simulation models to achieve correlation & support process improvement efforts
Lead & coordinate simulation planning efforts with plant & process teams to develop optimal solutions for concept designs & processes.
Develop & design solutions that provide best process flow to improve the throughput of the facilities
Achieve process excellence metrics like 100% First Time Quality, 100% On time delivery, 95% Efficiency, 85% Project Utilization by adhering to standardized work for all studies
Seek & evaluate customer feedback and drive changes as appropriate
Capture and share lessons learned within the team
Enhance team’s capabilities by bringing in innovation

Additional Job Description
Knowledge:

 

Sound knowledge in Plant Simulation
Sound knowledge of Simtalk2.0 coding language to model logics
Sound knowledge in modeling warehouse/material traffic & logistics
Good knowledge of automotive processes in Body, Paint, GA, and GPS shops
Good knowledge about throughput behaviors in a production system
Good knowledge in Lean Manufacturing Strategy (ex.TOC)
Good understanding of the vehicle development & launch process
Good knowledge in Project Management methodologies
Sound knowledge of OpEx tools, Six sigma and Red X methodologies
Basic understanding in AI/ML technologies & algorithms
Basic understanding in immersive technologies (AR/VR/XR)
Educational Qualifications:

B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech (Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Automobile)
Experience:

8- 12 yrs. in Automobile / Mechanical allied Engineering Industry (Required)
