Mechanical Engineer II
Summary:
Johnson Controls has an opening for a motivated mechanical engineer to be located at the R&D facility in Pune, India. This position is responsible for developing Fire Alarm products as well as supporting existing product lines. This is a hands-on position that works directly with tooling and prototype suppliers, manufacturing, sales and marketing teams.
Responsibilities:
Develop plastic and sheet metal enclosures for our new fire alarm control panels
Design innovative products with a focus on manufacturability and serviceability
Prove concepts through team review, rapid prototyping, soft tooling, and production launch.
Provide creative solutions to problems that arise during new product development
Participate in peer design reviews to ensure best design practices are followed
Participate in improvement efforts on existing products and provide technical support to sales team, marketing, and customers

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BSME preferred)
Minimum 3 years related work experience in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of injection molding, plastic part, and assembly design
Experience with sheet metal enclosure/electronic packaging design
Knowledge of engineered resins, metal finishes and plating’s
Competent with Creo (Windchill / PLM a plus)
Strong organizational skills with a focus on short- and long-term deliverables
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be comfortable working in a cross functional global team environment.
