Job Description
Overview

Main Purpose – 

Lead field team and assist India Seed Lead in implementing better extension model for “Farmer Connect”.

Lead potato/Seed storage management in his Territory (Direct & Supervision)
Lead Seed sale and procurement in his Territory to fulfill CF Seed requirement.
Ensuring New Area Development.
Identify / create / develop / grow / sustain new as well early areas of Agro-contacts/ farming pockets.
Ensure discipline amongst partners/ growers/ effective administration and implementation of PepsiCo policy COC.

Own and drive the Safety agenda – in the territory (field/ Cold Stores/ Silo)

Ensure discipline amongst farmers / partners / suppliers to have effective administration and implementation of company policy and standards. Also, maintain and lead the relationship building with local government officials & administrative officers.

Drive the SFP – Water positive agenda through drip irrigation and DSR (Direct seeding of rice) contributing to PI Positive Water balance and RCV, CI, Demo Farms and other Ag+ agenda in the states.

Own and drive the Engage Everyday – CSR agenda to develop sustainable relationship with farmers and other stakeholders.

Drive the Agro capability development agenda for the Agro region – driving the Agri-technological knowledge sharing and competency building within the team.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities –

 

In charge of one territory/region – Ensure the CF development of all the relevant crops – majorly potatoes seed independently

Identify and develop the new farmers/area for the seed multiplication to cater the need of the business.
Execute the contract farming proposal as per the contract/agreement with the farmers.
Arrange for seed advance collection, bank loan proposal clearance on behalf of growers.
Identify the new pockets that would complement / supplement existing plan and increase penetration of program and create opportunities to improve quality of the produce
Arrange for timely allocation / distribution of seed to farmers and arrange post planting supervision and POP implementation.
Ensure the DFD (Digital Field Diary) for each and every terrain mapped, timely data update, capturing of events, POP adherence, strip test, diseases/rains challenges and Manager assessment factors to give visibility to the business on quantity and quality of seed production.
Develop/arrange farmers/vendors to provide shed arrangements and graders availability for timely procurement of the seed from the farmers’ fields.
Arrange for timely harvesting of material and supply to stores/regions as per requirement.
Ensure seed security programs and zero pilferage of seed.
Ensure identification of key supplier – farmers / traders / cooperatives / association / groups / NGO and sustain relationship with them.

Counseling and coaching to farmer members and growers on Package Of Practice (POP)
Build relationship with each grower and identify potential new groups / association / NGO etc. to grow / penetrate and increase farming.
Maintain ongoing relationship with the farmers, key members of society and government and suppliers.
Planning, Collaboration, review & analysis

Assisting in Seed Program AOP preparation in alliance with finance and CG team
Assisting in PSP working and finalization in alliance with Agro Planner and R&D
Seed Proposal (S2S & M2S & Storage) working and submission in alliance with finance, Agro planner and CG team (Storage)
Collaborate with Zahura for variety wise Mini-tuber requirement, GH requirement, in compliance with future requirement.
Collaborate with Logistics team for lifting and dispatch logistic planning
Periodic Costing review to keep the budget in check
Review and analyze seed sale, crop management, procurement & Cold Store
Review & ensure strict compliance in grower evaluation with data driven rationale.
Strategic variety deployment decision making basis data driven analys
Technology/Mechanization Intervention

To bring new technology/Mechanization in Seed to seed & Mini-tuber to seed program in all the important legs of seed operation like – Agronomy, storage, planning & distribution process example – Mini-tuber planter, SmartTags, Geo tagging, Drive based Tracking system
Ensure discipline amongst partners / suppliers / effective administration and implementation of company policy and standards. Also, maintain relationship with local government officials & administrative officers.

 

Get agreements signed off from growers within stipulated time frame.

Prepare potatoes seed sale documentation, POP documentation, buying / procurement documentation, transit documents and digitalized PPR for each lots/vehicle

Implement Ex-Deal purchases / F.O.R deals

Set up quality labs and conduct quality test and report buying standards.

Liaison with local government officials – agricultural / horticulture – arrange field visits and increase farmer connect & get third party endorsement.

 

Ensuring implementation of CF norms / seed sale / supplier data base and mundi relations.

Daily updating and maintenance of dispatch records for all procurements, contractual jobs for loading /unloading, submission of Mandi Tax.
Handling queries ensuring accurate documentation and completion of formalities as per QC protocol
SmartAGRO Coordinator

To act as a coordinator between Lead, RM & Key user for smooth and efficient implementation in Agro Function
Implementation and sustenance through training to PAN India User
Optimization of workflow – new requirement gathering, identification and UAT execution
Issue resolution support & preparation of training modules & Manuals
Processes optimization

Business processes identification, mapping, analysis for optimization through improvement or re-structuring, example: reduction in farmer payment reflection lead time in our system for faster readiness for seed sale
Optimize the Seed lifting & dispatch tracking Pan India for better transparency and accurate execution
Development of efficient formats for faster, conclusive and accurate planning PAN India

 

Drive the Agro capability development agenda for the Agro region – driving the Agri-technological knowledge sharing and competency building within the team.
Drive the agenda developed centrally on Agro competency development.
Mentor the new joiners on Agro techno-commercial skills.
Continuously share internally and externally the Agro best practices

Own and drive the Agro SFP and Regen Ag+ agenda to develop sustainable relationship with farmers and other stakeholders.

Collaborate with other team members to build Agro SFP calendar.
Monitor and ensure compliance of SFP training calendar.
Drive micro irrigation in the geography.
Drive various Regenerative agriculture practices like Demo Farms, Bio Char etc.

Contributing towards effectiveness of own department:
Participating actively in team meetings to analyze short falls, problems, concern areas with others and developing action plans.
Implementing action plans
Understanding, support and resolve problems of other team members.
Developing and maintaining service orientation in the department
Providing inputs to the manager in developing the AOP/PSP/CF Proposal.

Qualifications

Key Skills/Experience Required – 

 

Education: Graduate/ PG in Agriculture/ MBA – Marketing / Supply Chain
Functional Experience: Approx 5-7 years of experience
Language: English, Hindi, Local language preferred
Experience: 

Experience of dealing with farmers, traders, negotiation, selling, collaboration, agricultural departments & state agricultural policy.
Experience of dealing with local government authorities, suppliers, store’s owner, transporters, farmer unions
