We are looking for people with enthusiasm and a good track record in forming part of a high-performing team to deliver a range of major projects with colleagues located in Germany and the rest of the Europe. To succeed in this role, you must have a B.Tech in Civil Engineering with practical experience in the delivery of ports and marine engineering solutions. An M.Tech degree in Ports and Marine Engineering / Marine Structures or a higher academic qualification would be advantageous, along with a track record of delivering marine structures design, and other allied structures. Your new role

As our new Senior Engineer, Marine, REC, you will be part of a world class, innovation driven engineering design centre Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC)…

Your key responsibilities will be:

Carrying out the design of Marine and Civil Engineering structures like Ports, Ship Locks, Flood Barriers, Dams, Culverts, and here in particular concrete constructions, sheet piles, quay walls, jetties, retaining walls, construction pits,  and other relevant structures for ports and marine projects up to immersed tunnels
Review the work of Engineers and CAD technicians/modelers in the project team
Undertaking technical due diligence and maintaining quality of deliverables
Overseeing and troubleshooting the work of Marine structures design, guide Assistant Engineers / Design Engineers in carrying out the design and preparation of the drawings and BIM models
Coordination with the project manager and global design teams for project planning/preparation of work schedules and work breakdown structure
Delivering projects on agreed quality, time and budget
Should take initiatives to develop Assistant Engineers / Design engineers and improve the quality of delivery of the team as a whole
Mentoring and supervising Assistant Engineers/ Design Engineers and provide inputs to Team Lead/Project Manager/Technical Manager for the continued development of the staff in the team.
Your new team

You will be part of REC was established as a dedicated institution for creating the excellence centre in Ramboll. REC focusses on providing global expertise using local resources from India. Facilitates cooperation between India, business units in Europe and the Middle East specifically for the Buildings, Transport and Water sectors.

This big team is divided into groups of dedicated personnel  working for structures in UK, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway who sometimes also work across these boundaries. They are virtual team mates working on common projects, prime business units in the above countries being the ones who coordinate with the clients and other consultants as well as with REC to pass on the design solutions to the user. The wide range in type of projects vary from high rise structures, to precast, to post tensioning etc., for some regions to industrial structures depending on the country you are working for. The most attractive thing is in spite of the challenges of working across continents, because of the culture of planning ahead and ability to understand each other’s needs, everyone works in a peaceful and lively manner, enjoyment and empowerment being some of the Ramboll values

About you

These include:

More than 5 years of experience in Civil Engineering with focus on Marine Structures design.
Hands on experience working with European design codes (Eurocodes) / German Codes (DIN) is essential
BE / B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from an institute of repute. ME / M. Tech in Marine/Structural Engineering is preferred
Experience in carrying out conceptual up to detailed design (object planning and support structure planning, structural calculations) of Marine Structures or comparable taking into account soil structure interaction aspects is essential
Experience in preparation of design reports and specifications pertaining to Marine structures
Preference will be given to candidates having good scripting and coding skills in Python/VB/Macros
Have hands on experience in using the design softwares Sofistik/LUSAS/MIDAS/ is prerequisite
Professional English language skills (written and verbal) as well as German language skills (spoken, written, > B2) are essential
Ability to work well in a team and coordinate with other team members and the project manager for timely delivery of projects
A desire to develop your career to enable other team members to deliver effective and accurate design and analysis services for our clients
BE / B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from an institute of repute. ME / M. Tech in Marine/Structural Engineering is preferred
