Job Responsibilities :


The Hydrocarbon SCM Governance & Integration (G&I) function is a part of the Group Logistics which provides support in governance, risk management & assurance framework to the Hydrocarbons business across RIL group.

This role holder, Execute projects related to Shipping & Chartering and change initiatives. Maintain records of processes, systems and data designs including governance design and report on performance.

This role holder will also facilitate for implementation of HSSE, DuPont and other global best practices in co-ordination with business and logistics function which are relating to Shipping & Chartering with an approach and work methodology driven by cost optimization, optimal service standards, adherence to HSE and regulatory compliance.


Job Accountability

Contribute towards development and finalization of Shipping & Chartering Automation Strategy in collaboration with Product and Chartering Head
Interface with IT Product Trading companies to ensure product delivery at the lowest possible cost with an end to end digitisation
Manage automation development of the overall time vs. spot charter strategy
Provide inputs to Shipping Head & Chartering Head on IT systems relating to contract negotiation contracts with counter parties on behalf of Reliance
Prepare benchmarks on Spot and Time charter contracts using Industry data
Monitoring compliance with the policies and standards established
Ensure the strategic optimisation and effective management of the fleet
Identify and promote the sharing of best practice. Responsible for maintaining and developing the expertise and performance of this specialised chartering  to ensure continued delivery of safe, reliable and cost effective shipping for the company
Monitor third party suppliers# (ship owners/brokers) performance against the required high standards.
Ensure representation of shipping & chartering function in IT Automation and Business Process review meetings / discussions and provide inputs in development of terming strategies based on market data.
Provide shipping expertise and market / freight rate information, monitor analyse chartering performance
Maintain and develop excellent working relationships with major ship owners, brokers, and other associates / customers
Perform market analysis and develop price curves, comparison with benchmark market price (for TC/ Spot by vessel type and procurement/ out-chartering)
Participate in Broker and ship owner performance reviews
Comparison of total Actual Chartering cost with respect to assessments for plan/ to traders (by vessel type)
Concentration of contracts with specific owners/ brokers, TC vessel performance (by vessel)





Education Requirement :
Engineering Graduate (Necessary)


BE., MBA/CA (inter), CMA (inter)  & Equivalent Professional Qualification from a Reputed Institute
Specialized courses in logistics /finance/ technology implementation/ automation
Experience Requirement :
7+ years of Logistics Operations, preferably in Shipping Industry
Shipping & Chartering operations (both liquids and solids) and product specific issues
Best operating practices, globally, pertaining to chartering including key operating cost drivers for logistics
Logistics infrastructure and resources that can be shared across products to reduce costs
Issues related to ramping up of current scale to fully meet the demands of a rapidly expanding business
Transportation laws prevailing and the applicable regulatory bodies with respect to logistics
Should have worked in the logistics function consisting of all modes of movement and handling both bulk/packed solid and bulk liquid hydrocarbon products
Skills & Competencies :
Knowledge of global logistics, shipping & chartering gas or liquid chemical products & industry
Prior Knowledge of SAP, Excel, PowerPoint
Change and project management experience and expertise in the areas of Shipping and Chartering
Analytical Skills, Proactive and resilient, strong influencing and communication skills including the ability to challenge
Planning, organizing and coordinating competencies
