Job Description

SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:
Role holder will be responsible for providing environment, health, safety (EHS) support to the internal and external stakeholders of India Chennai Operation to ensure key EHS risks are appropriately addressed, and compliance is maintained. Role holder will be required strategies and execute outcome-oriented actions such as risk reduction, improvement in EHS performance and most importantly in ensuring development of safety behavior by all employees. Provides leadership and technical resources to ensure business compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental government regulations as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Functional Expertise
1. Leader in the support, implement and maintain the Rockwell Automation environmental, health and safety management systems to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
2. Participate in and provide assistance with government agencies’ field visits for the purpose of understanding the regulations and to ensure compliance.
3. Leader in the government audit, headquarters assessment and deployments of the actions to completion.
4. Follow the latest EHS related regulations and Laws closely to ensure the internal process and procedure’s validity.
5. Report monthly injury/illness metrics to HQ-EHS; support the investigation of injury and illnesses; analyze work related injury and illness data to identify and implement actions to prevent a reoccurrence of the injury/illness; and support efforts to return employees to productive work within assigned medical restrictions.
6. Ensure that environmental, health and safety assessments, personal protective equipment, procedures, training and other control measures as required by regulation and/or Rockwell Automation policy and procedures are provided for the employees in the organization.
7. Ensure visibility of EHS actions along with regular communication to employees.

• Provides EHS leadership in the organization and drives implementation of HQ EHS programs within the business unit.
• Coach, develop and influence manufacturing cross functions for EHS awareness and foster the EHS culture.

• Demonstrates principled leadership and sound business ethics; shows consistency among principles, values, and behavior; builds trust with others through own authenticity and follow-through on commitments.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• B.S or similar college degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Sciences or Engineering required.
• PDCIS (Post Diploma Course in Industrial Safety) from approved by RLI or DGFASLI.
• Fluent in writing and speaking English and have the ability to effectively communicate with various local authorities.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• 7-10 years of experience directly related to the environmental, health and safety aspects in a manufacturing.
• Necessary experience in developing and implementation of ISO 14001 & 45001 certification.
• Project management experiences would be preferred.
