PLM Software Engineer

Job Responsibilities     

Develop PLM solutions and software in accordance with functional requirements. Provide technical guidance and business process expertise on PLM and Engineering Application projects involving CAD/CAM/CAE. Conduct full unit and integration testing scenarios. Document and write operational instructions for all work requirement which may serve as training material for the stakeholder community or operational group. Leverage development toolchain to automate and streamline whenever possible the software development process.
Analyze, design and develop new processes, programs, and configuration, taking into account the complex interrelationship of system-wide components.
Maintain, modify and support sub-system or 3rd party components (programs, processes, configuration); all the while working within a larger system scope.
Complete life-cycle testing (unit and integration) of all work processes including cross platform interaction.
Troubleshoot, investigate and persist. Develop solutions to problems with unknown causes where precedents do not exist, by applying logic and inference with persistence and experience, to see the problem through to resolution. Confer with the stakeholder community on problem determination. Make joint analysis decisions on cause and correction methods. Perform tasks necessary to ensure data integrity and system stability.
Write and maintain all documentation supporting primary area of responsibility.
Draw solutions from others and recommend courses of action, all the while, growing understanding of company culture and business practices.
Expand use of current technologies and application design methodologies as they apply to Goodyear. Increase breadth and depth of technical knowledge by expanding knowledge base
Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related discipline is required.
7-8 years experience in applying current information technology to specific areas of business.
Specific knowledge of the current information technology toolsets: C++/Java, SQL, Windows Scripting
Experience developing and troubleshooting REST/SOAP web services
Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins and other CI/CD toolsets
Experience with SDLC & ITIL processes
Prior experience with CAD/CAE, PLM and SLM products, including data models, customizations, API, infrastructure and operational support experience is a bonus
Basic knowledge of the current Office Product suite.
Developing an understanding of business process area supported; continued growth in understanding company culture and business practice.
Developing an understanding of basic cost/benefit analysis methods.
