What you will do
You will be the owner of complete machine Hydraulic systems and controls, for both Diesel and Electro-mobility products and our go to person for anything related to Hydraulics on our products.
Main task is to plan, lead and inspire the team in area of complete machine Hydraulics system design & architecture. The mission with this role is to facilitate a clear architectural strategy for how functionality is broken down within the total system and hence allocated to different parts of the system. Secure the Hydraulic architecture consistency and implementation across projects/products according to the system roadmap and strategy.

The aim is to produce design solutions that balance technical performance, manufacturability, and material cost so that the products will be sustainable and competitive for Volvo CE.

• Develop concepts, evaluate technologies, and design Complete machine hydraulic systems and architecture.
• Design, develop, document, test, and troubleshoot the complete Hydraulic system and controls, for both local and global projects in India as an individual contributor.
• Plan and coordinate project deliverables with Chief Engineer, Scrum leader/CPM and other technical leads within the project.
• Cross functional interface with allied departments including suppliers and test houses with the objective of executing the project within the QDFC defined in the project scope
Who are you?
• Excellent problem-solving ability and experience of RCA tools
• Expert in Hydraulic system design and Components selection/ sizing
• Expert in theoretical calculations like power / torque requirements for various duty cycles, braking distance, tractive effort, Grade-ability, cooling requirements.
• Expert on cleanliness level (Standards NASH level) and required filtration systems.
• Considerable practical experience with internal construction of proprietary components like pumps, motors, valves, and cylinders
• Have good networking with suppliers for getting inputs on processes, capabilities, and industry trends during development activity.
• Considerable experience in costing of hydraulic system/components as well as product risk management.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Like sharing knowledge and mentor others
• Comfortable around higher management, can stand alone and customer focused.

Qualification and Experience
• >15 years in off-highway or construction equipment industry in design and development of equipment hydraulics
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
